Anyone interested in participating in special managed hunts or hunting on most federal properties, (ie. Fort Belvoir, or Quantico), should be aware that the requirements for these hunts include
successful completion of both the Hunters Education Program, and the International Bowhunters Education Program (IBEP). Also, for Fort Belvoir and some managed hunts, there is a required archery proficiency test.

Information on Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) and Deer Hemorrhagic Disease (HD)
Currently the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries (VDGIF) is in the process of evaluating the possible effects of CWD and HD on the Virginia Deer population.
This will allow them to take necessary measures to prevent eccessive losses to these diseases.
